At a car show a NCRS member told me my wiper arms are from 1966 corvette, I'm wanting to get it judged is there a difference in the arms, all the catalogs show 1963-67, if there is a difference anyone know where I can purchase a set.

Thanks

do you have stainless or polished currently? perhaps, this is the problem, as I agree that the arms are the same for 1963-7. don't have an NCRS JG in front of me for 1967 and that is what you should reference

Michael,

Wiper arms:

1963, 1964, & 1965 used part numbers 3829261 for left & 3829262 for right
1966 used 38882978 for left & 38882979 for right
1967 used 3915861 for the left & 3915862 for the right

And yes, there are visual differences.

Don

The '67 arms and blade-holders are brushed satin-finished instead of bright chrome and polished stainless, due to FMVSS driver field of view reflectivity regulations that came into effect for '67. The arms are Trico, and the blade-holders can be either Trico or Anco; in either case, the blade holders are triangular in cross-section with a distinct sharp peak along their length.

In addition to other differences mentioned in the two preceeding posts, 1963, 1964, and 1965 wiper arms and blade holders are bright chrome/polished stainless, while 1966 and 1967, as JohnZ says, are satin finished.

Just another reason why our '67s are so astronomically priced, John ;)

Thanks to everyone on the response on 1967 wiper blades, the ones I have are satin finish, I will remove and check part numbers, by looking at them, they do not have the sharp peak along the length.

Thanks

The lack of a sharp peak along the length is likely what tipped off your NCRS guy.:)

There was a set of 67 blades on Ebay alittle while ago and they went for almost $400. That is NUTS.

You may decide the '66 (or whatever they turn out to be) don't look so bad after all! You could always borrow a correct pair for judging, I suppone, if that's your interest.

If there are any junkyards in your area, the blade-holders on '69 Camaros are EXACTLY the same as those on '66-'67 Corvettes (not the arms, just the blade-holders).
