Any Idea what the letter A after the chalk mark build sequence # means on the lower right firewall kick panel Example 429A hand written in crayon
 
429 isn't a '68 interior color code, and there are not any listed option codes as 429. My best guess would be a date code - April 29, work shift "A" perhaps? I believe that at the time, Chevrolet was running 2 or 3 work shifts on the production line. Does 429 relate to the build date on the trim tag? April build date on the trim tag would be a "I".
