This Rally Red Vette definitely gets the looks! It would be a great show vehicle with some TLC. The body is all original with all mfg. fiberglass seams in tact. The paint is older and could use a nice paint job. The body frame is straight & solid & is rust free. The only visible surface rust is on the luggage rack. The wipers and headlights are fully functional. The weather stripping is worn and needs replacing. The bumpers are original and still in very nice condition. The convertible top is in good condition, with two very small holes possibly where the hinges pinched. Tires are brand new Cooper Vipers. The wheel rims, trim, & caps are original.
Interior
The interior seems to be all original. The dash, door panels, and seats are in really good condition with no tears, cracks, or blemishes. The carpet definitely needs changed. It is the original but is very worn and torn due to the floor plugs being lost by the original owner. The radio is after market and works as well as the speakers. All gauges work accept for clock (never worked), Voltage, and tachometer. The tachometer is not connected due to an electronic distributor is in place without a conversion kit for connection. All gauge lighting still works. The center console venting controls need adjusted to work properly.
Mechanics
Originally optioned with a 427 engine, the car now has a 350 small block with 4-speed manual transmission. It is not known what happened to the original engine due to lack of historical information. It has a 4-barrel Holley which I personally rebuilt recently. It also has a Holley Street Dominator Intake. New distributor components. New MSD high performance plug wires. New Alternator. New brakes with stainless components.
This vehicle is in the Houston Metro area. If you would like to see it in person, please contact me at 713-410-8291 or 281-313-1765. If you would like to see other photos of the vehicle, please contact me at dirk1965@hotmail.com
Asking price: $17,500
