I am building a database to record the sales/build history of 1973 Corvettes. I have obtained data on approximately 135 1973 Corvettes so far. I currently own a July built 1973 Dark Blue Corvette. I would greatly appreciate your help in obtaining more data/history.

I am recording the VIN or at least need the last five numbers of the VIN, the individual Corvette sequence number.
To help corroborate the build date I also need the date code from the Trim Tag. TheTrim Tag is located on the driver's side body door opening at the top door hinge. The code should be one letter and two numbers: L20 and just after the word 'Chevrolet' on the top of the Trim Tag

I also am recording the original paint and interior colors. The Trim Tag also contains these two codes, both three number codes.

I am recording the following information from the build sheet or the window sticker:
Build sequence and schedule numbers,
The last five numbers of the VIN,
The dealer's name and address.
The dealer's zone number, two numbers and two more numbers,
The dealer's order number, three letters and three numbers,
The build sheet schedule number
The build sheet schedule date

The build sheet sequence number
The Destination Cost on the window sticker on shown on the build sheet in box 122
The dollar amount in box 123 on the build sheet
The vehicle weights

If possible a jpg file of the build sheet and/or window sticker would be greatly appreciated.
This information is being used for historical data and will not be used for any other purpose.

If you wish, you can email the information to me at: "rms0990-at-erols-doc-com"

Thank you for your help.

Roger, what do you propose to do with your database? Were you aware that the CAC has an extensive listing and database of Corvette info??

By the way, I have a 73 L82 coupe w. M20... colour 952 :D

I am building a 'Birthday Book' for 1973 Corvette owners. The NCRS Birthday Book' is not correct for 1973's and the NCRS Wisconsin Site does not give dates for 1973 Corvettes as well. The VN sequence number, trim tag date code and schedule date tie the build date together. To me the build date, when the car came off the assembly line, is not the same as trim tag date code which represnts when the body was finished and ready to be placed on the frame.

Also, I am trying to corrolate the order number and body number with the VIN.

I am documenting the shipping charges to have fees for 73 Corvette owners wishing to know the probable shipping charge if they wish to have a reproduction window sticker made.

As for know the color and interior trim it is just for knowing what was produced.

The body build date code on the trim tag is normally one day ahead of the day the car actually came off the line (unless the tag date is a Friday); the trim tag was riveted to the door at the beginning of the Trim Line, not at the end of the Trim Line (body drop). It's also possible to have it be the same day; if the body went on the Trim line during the first hour of the 1st shift, it would have come off the line during the 8th hour of the 2nd shift.
