1976 700R4 conversion

You'll need the driveshaft from an 82 corvette. The TH700R4 is longer than the automatics used in previous years.

You can use a 1982 crossmember. One thing to note about it: it has a single 'cutout' for the exhaust pipe on the passenger side. The 1982 had a single catalytic converter. So the exhaust makes a Y shape into a single pipe before the crossmember, then an upside down Y to go back to dual exhaust tips after the crossmember. Something to think about.

Good Luck!!!

Also... many companies make a dual exhaust kit for the 80-82 with single exhaust crossmember. It is basically a set of duals that snake their way side by side under the bump on the crossmember.

This is for an 80-82... but if you use the 82 crossmember, it should work fine for you if you have OE manifolds.
