Greetings To All,

My 77 vette has developed an electrical prolblem which is as follows.

When I turn my headlights on with dash lights on as well, that activates the hazard buzzer as well shorting out the temperature guage , which jumps all the way to right well past the 250 degree mark. When I turn off the dash lights off these issues stop. Also
when I leave the headlights on after turning off the engine, the warning buzzer does not activate to remind me to turn the lights off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a ground issue.

You need to get an assembly manual and or official GM manual for that car and track down the ground locations in the dash, clean, and reattach them. That should solve your problem.

What is happening, is it is attempting to ground through the other circuits making the gauge go whacko, etc.
