Hello, wondering if someone could shed some light on a steering column length issue. I was having wiring issues with turn signals, no horn and some corroded connections. I have read Jim's papers on steering as well as anything else I could find. The dimensions for 79 should be 38" this is a little over 39, which makes me think someone replaced it with a 69-76 column. So I am debating having it rebuilt or replacing it with a Ididit or Flaming river column.

So two questions:
Is this already a replaced column in my 79 based on length?
If I have it rebuilt who would one recommend?

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center.

The only column I have not in a car is a 1974 tilt/telescopic and it's about 34" collapsed. Not sure what it extends to. Hopefully someone will have a firm answer for you.
