I have removed my 1979 steering wheel. Their is one pice left which looks like a locking hub. I have a new MOMO hub and wheel that I want to install. I have tried 2 different wheel pullers with no luck. Any ideas or even directing me to the exact puller that I need to buy would be MOST WELCOME. Here is a few pics of the hub itself.....FRUSTRATED in PA.!!

The link will not work without a password so I can not see your pictures.
As for the puller I have used one from Lisle Corporation #45000 on my '78 and it worked for me.
Good luck

my password is harvey.

I can't believe I am having this many problems pulling this wheel off.....Some folks said, only a few screw to take off, others have called it a major job..I'm stuck somehwere in between...

I didn't have any problem getting my 75 steering wheel off. Try and get those pictures to work here and i will try and determine what has you stuck

Andy,

I just took my 79 steering apart. I used a generic wheel puller from AutoZone and it came right off. Any wheel puller should work, but yours sounds like it might be siezed, for whatever reason. It's a pretty loose press fit. I assume you are using the the 2 holes on either side of the shaft.

Autozone has both pullers that you need. First is the puller that you use with two bolts to remove the steering wheel. The second one is used to remove the steering lock plate. This puller screws on to the steering shaft and u-shaped piece pushes down on the plate so that you can remove the C-clip. After this, release the pressure and you should be home free. Good luck.
