My 1980 C3 is fitted with an Edelbrock carburettor with an electric choke. The car has a manual gearbox (starts with the clutch down).
The choke light on the dashboard stays on even when the choke has switched off automatically after the engine has warmed up.
A friend checked the live feed to the choke and found it was only putting out about two volts instead of twelve.
When the live feed was disconnected from the choke the light on the dash remained on. Only when the earth lead was disconnected would the dash light go out.

Can anyone suggest a possible cause and remedial action?

Cheers ! Eric Booth ..... Newcastle England.

Check your choke relay. (Under shifter console just infront of the shifter)
