1980 L82 engine code

I know this thread has popped up before. I cannot for the life of me find the engine code stamped on the block. I've been told its near the water pump but do I need to move something to view it? Getting slightly frustrated... haha

It's on the right head deck. Look at the front of the passenger side cylinder head. Then look right below that on the block deck. You will find the code there.

Maybe I'm searching for something that isn't there. Heres a pic of the location. I see no evidence of a plate being removed or scratched away.

Move all that stuff that's in the way, then clean off the block deck in front of the right head. If the numbers are not there, the engine has had the block decked.
