I was loooking into going with a painless wiring kit for my engine, lights, dash, etc.

Has anyone done this before or would it be better to go back with a oem wiring harness?

As the car is I could reuse the rear and dash wiring I think. I do have a old wiring harness (dash, engine, front lights) out of another 1980 but it needs alot of work and connectors.

Did you have any trouble with the Lectric Limited harness?

As my car is now I have nothing to go by on lengths or how stuff was ran in the engine bay. So I would like to make it as simple as I can.

I would recommend going with a OEM harness. My experience with a Painless wiring kit was anything but. It was a kit for a Chevelle that a buddy of mine owned. The painless kit required you to cut off the wiring plugs from the old harness and splice them into the Painlesss wires. Problem was that the plugs were not in the best of shape plus splicing old original wiring into what was suppose to be a new harness. This was several years ago and Painless may have changed things since then. The reproduction harness's available are pretty nice and no reason not to use one of them.

No trouble. All connectors on the harnesses and everything fit perfectly. What part of SC are you in. I'm in]Augusta, GA.

I live bout a hour from Florence SC close to the NC and SC state line.

I've heard good and bad from Painless harnesses. The down fall for me would be they dont make a kit or remake of the OEM harnesses. If I was to have to cut and splice then It would be cheaper for me to use the used harness I have now.
