OK, I've yet to find the answer to this...
Some of the 80's had dual-snorkle air intake, others have single. I thought at first it was due to being either the L48 (single) or L82 (dual) engine config. But this doesn't seem to be the case. What was the determining factor? Build date?
All I have to go on thus far is that my car was born October '79. When I got it, it had the dual intake, but the L48 engine (as the VIN shows also). It wouldn't surprise me though to know that one of the previous owners had changed it to dual if it wasn't like this from the factory.
