1981 Air Conditioning

I put a link in here for you that is a typical setup for electric fans.


You'll find that most are thermostatically controlled and are not dependant on if the AC is running, purely on temp in the bay. I am not sure but think vette fans are thermo controlled, you should be able to check by chasing the wiring. I would expect that at some point the fans would come on with the AC running due to extra load but just "becuase" you are running the air should not make the fan engage.

The electric fan is switched on by a temp sensor in the engine. I *believe* it's on the passenger side. I think they label the sensor as the Auxiliary Fan Switch.
