1981 C3 water expansion /reservoir bottle cleaning .

Has anyone tried to clean these things ? How do you get the orange/brown staining of 40 years out of the plastic container ? They want $ 50 + for a new one !
Someone must have a clever remedy in the Vette world out there .... Thanks guys !

You can try to use CLR to clean out the reservoir> But a coolant reservoir that old may have staining in the plastic itself and needs to be replaced.

Hey Douglas , i,ve been looking for CLR ........what exactly is this ?? Obviously a Stateside product , i wonder what the U.K . equivalent would be ?

Also try Iron Out. Mix it, fill the reservoir and let it set for a few hours or overnight.
