I just received my cooling fan switch in the mail today, and as I was reading the instructions I became really confused. The directions don't tell me what I'm supposed to do with the black grounding wire, so I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to hook it up. These were the best instructions I could find. http://content.mamotorworks.com/pdf/601972.pdf

Much appreciated,
Dan.

Does you plug have 2 wires or just one????
I am guessing it has 2 based on your question...try plugging it in to the switch on the head, and see if it works WITHOUT using the second wire...IF it does NOT work you will have to run the 2nd wire to ground.

PS welcome to CAC!!!
hope you enjoy the site!!!!1

I don't know if the switch is connecting the 12v to the fan or is connecting the ground from the fan. As I read the instructions it looks like the switch connects the fan to ground. You can check this to see if the two wires have 12v on them (with the key in the acc or run position) or if they are connected to ground.

As I read the instructions the old switch with two wires has one wire (light blue) from the fan connecting to the switch and one wire (black) from the switch connecting to ground somewhere. Your new switch grounds directly to the engine so you'll only need the one wire (light blue) comming from the fan connect that to the new switch and you don't need the black wire anymore. Best idea then is to tape the old connector and tape the wire to the wiring harness or something.

But like I said, first you'll need to know if the switch is on the 12v or the ground side of the fan. :)

Greetings Peter
