im lookin to change the tranny filter and fluid. i work part time at a parts store along with going to school....and pretty much every turbo 350 ive looked up takes the same Fram transmission filter kit....but i looked it up for my vette and it gave me two kits. one for the TH350 Brass and one for the TH350 Nylon. what is that all about? and how do i decifer what i have? anyone else ever run into this problem...it only said this about the 81...cuz i checked 80, 82 and 79 and they were slightly different listings but said nothing about brass or nylon. thanks

I ran into this when I serviced my 81's TH350 as well. Truthfully I don't know how you can tell short of dropping the pan and looking at the filter. The kits are not at all expensive, it might be best to buy both and return the incorrect one.:w

yea thats my plan. thanks for the response man. nice lookin vette you got there.

The difference in the filters is 1 has a nylon screen the other is a brass screen. I am quite sure they are interchangeable!!!! I really dont think it makes much diff. which you choose,:D

Hey Trent

Actually yes, I've thought long and hard and really want a corvette as a daily driver. This one is just too nice to give it that duty.I'm shopping for a 99 or 00 low miles. :s

You know Dale, I'm in the same boat. Thats what I'm thinking of doing only i'm not parting with the 81.

Been shopping for one for about 3 mths now and If I find one before Auburn I think I'll buy it and that will take care of my problem, hence the other post.

I would even consider a nice 94 or 95 with low miles that I could get into for under say $14000.00

Hate to see you sell her she is a beauty and I know you've babied her for a long time.

Hell, lets rent a big two car hauler and I'll stop in Kentucky and pick ya up on the way to Auburn. Naw lets just drive 'em
