what's this BS about a prom? Either it's bad or it's not. Spend money elsewhere, check if the ECM properly functions (scanner > manually try to set all modes and note idle rpm and other parameters)

where did you buy prom and computer for 82 corvette

Welcome to the CAC, punkie!

In case you didn't notice, this thread was last "active" in 2003. I'm not sure those involved will reply to your question...

Crossfire Injection Mine

The crossfire system is a good system if well maintained and balanced. Mine has 146,000 on it and I have no desire to swap it for a carburated fuel system. That being said, back to your problem.

There is a great source of crossfire information righ there on the corvetteactioncenter forum. Click this link to take you to a great deal of good information.

To begin with, unless you KNOW for a fact that the fuel pump has been replaced, replace it now, preferably with an AC Delco unit (about $100). No use chasing possible fuel problems unless you know that you are getting good fuel pressure and volume from your pump. As for the high idle the culprit may be the coolant temperature sensor (cts) which is telling the computer its colder outside than it actually is (about $30). A newer designed cts is available but you will have to change the connector which only takes a few minutes.

As mentioned by geekinavette, you may want to try the crossfire injection forum for info. This Link will take you to their tech. help section where you will find lots of great info on crossfire maintenance including the fuel pump install, balancing the throttle bodies and lots of other "stuff".

You may also want to check your catalytic converter and mufflers to make sure that something isnt clogged.
