I'm hoping I can find the answer from the forum.....I have a broken dipstick and want to replace it, obviously. Is the '85 dipstick the same length as the '84?.

I've asked around, and I get conflicting answers. I figured that since it's the same 350, that the sticks are the same. Maybe an '84 owner and a '85 owner could measure their oil dipsticks and post the lengths here to finally answer the question for me.

I don't know if there's a difference in length, but if you want to use an '85 stick, fill the engine with the prescribed amount of oil (4 qts in the pan and either 1/2 or 1 qt i the iflter), then check the oil. If the oil level is at the full mark on the 85 stick, they're functionally the same.

Thanks Hib....I tried it with an '85 stick and it comes out to the same length as the broken '84 stick. That made me think that the dipstick tubes were of different lengths....
