1987 C4 braking

My car tends to pull to the left when I apply the brakes. I had both front calipers rebuilt and new front brake hoses installed. Also OEM brake pads front and rear. All done by a very competent mechanic.
The car still pulls to the left. It twists the steering wheel moderately hard.
Can that be the ABS unit?
What else can it be? Warped rotor on the left side?
Also, the pedal has to be stepped on vigorously, no feather touch will stop the car. I almost forgot: the master brake pump is new.

you may have air in the lines... if you do, there could be air in one line, so it may not be braking as hard on one side... this is the first, and most obvious fix.

Competent mechanic

:cool Yes, Ken. I had the brake system checked someplace else and the mechanic there said that the work was done correctly. So, can it e the ABS unit?
