Folks,

Just spent the afternoon locating the extra set of fuses on my 1988. Thought I'd share the information with you.

The 1988 has three fuses in a separate holder for:
- the Hatch Release Switches (3 Amp)
- the Theft Deterrent Module (15 Amp)
- the Crank (Fuel Pump, Oil pressure sender) (5 Amp)

For some reason, these fuses aren't located in the convenient panel by the passenger door hinge, but BEHIND the Driver Information Center. To be more specific, the fuse holder is virtually right behind the English/Metric switch on the Range/Trip/Reserve panel.

To get to the fuse, you need to do the following:
- remove the center console trim plate
- remove the center and righter most screws on the panelling behind the steering wheel, so that you can just prise out the center console trim plate (you may wish to remove the side screws on the driver side as well)
- remove the three hexagonal screws on the information panel mountings
- carefully pull out the information panel (you should just about be able to get to the fuses without having to remove the wiring from the back of the panel)

Hope this helps, please shout if you need any more information.

Chris.
