1991 cig lighter doesn't work

Cig lighter doesn't work. I use it for cell phone etc. Can't seem to find the fuse to check it. Where is it located? I believe the book says it is in a fuse box under the hood. If that is right, where is it. Anyone who can help please jump in and help.

Also saw in the book about another hot wire in console for cell phones etc. Anyone hooked it up and how difficult is it?

The fuse under the hood for the Cigar lighter also controls the power door locks, hatch, Power seats, and the A/C programmer. If those things are working then the fuse is ok. My guess is that the cigar lighter has gone bad and will need to be replaced. You can use a multimeter to check it for power. Put one probe inside on the side of the cigar lighter and the other on the middle contact you should have voltage there. Let us know how it turns out.

I ended up taking mine to a dealer - they said there were actually two fuses that had to be replaced - that's on a '92.
