Good morning, a couple of questions, we recently purchased a 1991 corvette coupe, went to lunch, a/c was on when we shut the car off to go in for lunch. Upon restarting car after lunch we smelled something odd and seen smoke so i immediately shut car off, and opened hood. Smoke coming from it appeared a/c clutch?, i unplugged clutch at compressor, restarted car, all good running wise. Possibly clutch, or if compressor how did it work when we shut car off then lockup on startup?? A friend of mine told me damage already done and compressor and evap canister, and vacuum/clean system but due to how this happened could it just be a failed a/c clutch? Anyone who can walk me through checking it out i would appreciate it, everything was replaced in system a couple of years before we bought it as i have all the receipts from ecklers for the parts...very strange, Jamie
