Hi,
I just bought my first Vette, real clean, and I'm going over the car making sure everthing works. I had a rear passenger side marker light bulb out and replaced it. In order to replace it I had to remove a black plastic body access cover that attaches with push in type body grommets? and I noticed there wasn't one on the drivers side, anyway, my question is there suppose to be one there. Please respond if you know if my car is missing it and maybe where I can get it.
Thanks :W

I believe its suppose to only be on the passenger side to help protect the vaccum canister. How hard was it to manuever your hand around to get the bulb out? I finally got the bulb holder twisted out but did it blindly and ended up breaking the bulb off the socket and it ended up inside the lens and I cant get in there enough to see what Im doing to get the bulb base out of the socket. I feel I need to get the canister out of the way and remove the entire side marker.

Hi,
It was really difficult to do, it took a long time to replace and I also lost the old bulb inside the lens housing and couldn't get it out, so guess where it still is? To put the new bulb in I kind of gently pushed the vacuum canister away and installed the new bulb and socket. That's when I noticed the other side did noy have that same black plastic cover. I thought maybe the cover was just to protect the vacuum canister but was not sure. Thanks for your help.

clydeyb - Welcome to the Corvette Action Center! Since this is more of a C4 body question than an introduction, I'm going to move your thread to the C4 forum... that way you'll get more attention and pertinent responses. :thumb

Congrats on your first Corvette!!
Enjoy and post pix when you're able. We love Corvette photos!

clydeyb, from another new member, I can confirm that there is only a cover on the passenger side, on my 94 vert the bulbs where removed due to earlier regulations here in Sweden. It wasn't hard at all to put a new bulb in after removing the cover. //Åke
