Is this a REAL LT4,or one made out of a LT1??;shrug;shrug;shrug

LT4,to be or not to be?

Actually, this is like CocaCola. Its the real thing.4 bolt main will distinguish that real quick:bash

All vette LT1/4's are 4 bolt and the LT4 did not come out till 96 and only in manuals, except for 1 special vette w/auto.

Lt4

I beg to differ from you but i have 2 LT1's and guess what?They are 2 bolts.Should i save them as a extraordinary find?:L

LT1 2 bolts came in the f-bodies and Impala's. If you would stop acting like a dumba$$ and do a little research, you would findout you are wrong.

Ok,how would i tell difference

96 did not have a EGR, if yours does, then it is not a 96 or LT4.
All LT4's came w/a red intake and on top of the throttle body it says LT4.
LT4 had different heads and intake cast #'s than LT1( do not know the numbers) and if it came out of a automatic, it was not a LT4.
Also, the LT4 had a different cam, but the bottom ends were identical, except for the fore noted cam.
The LT4's stated HP was 330, but I have seen people posted dyno's with numbers much greater, seems GM did not want the LT4 to have better numbers than the new LS1, at least that is what I read.

All of them I've had here said "Grand Sport" on the throttle body!!:thumb
Just sent one home 2 weeks ago!!:thumb

If the engine is out, take pan off and if it is a 2 bolt main, then it is not a LT4.
For numbers call your local chevy dealer's parts dept., they can hook you up.

Really, my friends says LT4.

That's an aftermarket throttle body plate. All factory LT4's had "Grand Sport" on the TB plate.

It is a 4 bolt main, but i bought a long block,no intake.I rebuilt it.Put new cam in it,redone heads and put a red intake off a Z/28 on it.I guess it is what it is.
