If you have a 96, and the a/c blows thru the defrost vent and the floor vents only, do a lot of checking before you decide to buy a new programmer. Chevrolet -$954.00, Others - $450.00 to $580.00. Hope and pray you have a vacuum leak somewhere and not a bad programmer. There are a lot of good posts on this problem in the C-4 forum. Good Luck

I second that motion. And third it, and fourth it.......you get my drift! :)

I had the problem. With the posts on this forum, I was able to repair mine. Took time but basically no money for parts. Well, I think about $2.50 in parts, if you want to know the truth.

I have a feeling that Chevy dealers as a whole do a lot of miss-diagnosing. If they replace a piece of vacuum hose or reattach the vacuum plug to the programmer, what do you think they charge someone? Maybe the cost of a new programmer? Are you going to climb under your dash to see if a new part was installed? What a money-maker! :mad
