Sorry if this is a repost,
Came across a 1996 LT4 collectors edition car for 6500. Here are the specs
LT4 6spd obviously
130k
New paint
Good tires 75% tread left
MSD coil and Opti
New radiator and fuel pump
new rear wheel bearings/hubs
Interior decent Not perfect but not bad either
z51 suspension package
Flowmaster cat back american thunder exhaust
The bad or work it needs
Supposedly needs a head gasket since it blows coolant out of tank when it reaches temp.
Holds pressure but goes down very slow on coolant system test
Water pump leaks at weep hole
Top has a crack in it on pass side about 3" long-right in the middle just above door window.
Needs sending unit for fuel tank.
Was a FL car new - 2009 and NY car then on.
Have not drove it due to the coolant leak
Makes a whine noise at the water pump area, typical of these? Or just the gear drive sound?

So the owner drove it out here and went to leave and it overheated forcing him to fly home. So I ilke the car and can do the work on it but is the price too high or am I nuts for jumping in at this price. I think its fair but dont know the market well on these.
Thanks.

I would get the price of all the parts you need to replace, figure in the labor if you are not doing it yourself, or a nominal sum for your labor, check the KBB and also past issues of Corvette Magazine to get the worth of the car, then make a counter offer if you really want the car. The overheating bothers me and I would be wary of this problem; you could check with the C4C5Specialist on this forum, Paul might be able to give you advice on the overheating. C4s run hot, but they should not overheat unless there is something wrong with them.
Let us know your decision.

I want to get it and will be doing the work myself so don't have to worry about labor costs. I'm just seeing if that's a fair price for what the car is and what it needs and dont want to pay to much. I'm a car guy so the work/issues isn't really a big problem. Surfing craigslist I see prices all over the place depending on condition and location of course. Been reading about the cars on here and other forums and decided to join and wanted your guys input/ opinions.
Low bb on this is like 9k and high is 10k.
