Hi,
I just bought a 1996 collector's edition and noticed that when you turn the ignition to on, the Driver Information Center does a bulb test where the bulbs light up for a moment and then go out. The "low coolant light" however, doesn't light up on this car durring this test. The service department where I bought the car is telling that this light only comes on if there is a problem and does't come on during the bulb test. I find this hard to believe since the test is to make sure that the bulb will light if there is a problem. I sent mail to about 30 people who have 1996's for sale on Ebay. I got 4 answers 3 said it comes on 1 said it doesn't. I contacted the one who said it didn't to make sure he understood the question and he repeated the answer. Has he got the same problem? Burnt bulb? Can anyone tell me if there is an exception for this bulb test that excludes "low coolant light"? Is the dealer full of it and just doesn't want to make the bulb work and get stuck fixing the problem causing it to light?
I have to pick the car rup today and was hoping for information to support my position if I am correct in asuming that it should come on during the test.
Thanks a lot!
