Outstanding Machine !

This is the only C4 to own and maybe the C5 also and then again the C6.

Boy is it a good looking machine.

Drop dead C4

Hi Warren

real fast l'm goignt o hit the sack because tomorrow l'm leaving for Ohio to pick up my C5.

I will e-mail you pics when l get back and rested.

Alan

That GS is awesome.

Boy, that is nice, one for the car shows for sure.

Kingman, congratulations on your C5. Have a safe trip, you should have decent weather in Ohio tomorrow, it’s supposed to be in the mid 40’s here with a little cloud cover.

Good Luck Kingman... I'll keep my eyes open for a new C5 owner zooming along with a big silly grin on his face.

As far as this GrandSport... it is beautiful. But I see one modification I would do already.

See that dealers logo... that has got to go!

that has to be one of the cleanest I've seen. (apart from the dirt underneath)

Would have to trailer that one and store it in a bubble cover at home.. ugh!

Where are the original tires? :confused

And why would they wear out in 11,000 miles? :confused

Because I’m cursed with being an OEM freak :W when it comes to my Corvette, I was wondering the same thing.

At a local Corvette show, I came across a GS that had under 10,000k on the clock, it was wearing later model Goodyear tires. The owner let me know that he had problems with his GS-Cs and complained to Goodyear (GY). GY replaced his tires under warranty. They provided him a new set of tires that were the next generation of performance tires that came after the GS-Cs. He told me what the designation was, but I can’t remember what they were called.

It’s either that, or the owner was a enthusiastic LT4 owner! :lou

Looks great! Only needs a red interior... ;) No mention of the suspension option either.

But the thing I noticed was this:

Look at the rubber hood seal, notice how it goes from black to grey? That's a good indication of how much shiny gunk they sprayed all over the engine bay. Why do people do that? I'd hate to have to clean that stuff off, and I'd hate to smell it when the engine gets hot...

Dealerships are the worst at doing that. especially used lots!
they coat the car in that stuff - ugh

Aurora40....

Man oh Man!! Change your name to "HawkEye"....I would have missed that, but now that you pointed it out...it stands out like a "sore thumb"!!

So much for WD-40 or Silicone spray...maybe he ran out before he was finished detailing for the camera!!!!!

Still a beauty though............

I do not think Goodyear gave him a new set of tires. I would like to see the documentation.

The suspension is the Z51 Performance Handling Suspension. Notice there is no F45 RTD switch on the console. There were only these two suspensions available an any Grand Sport Coupe.

Yes, it's hard to imagine Goodyear gave him a new set of Michelin Pilot Sports... ;)

Couldn't it be a base-suspension car also?

No.

The Grand Sport Coupes had either the Z51 Performance Handling suspension or the F45 Real Time Damping suspension.

The Grand Sport Convertible had either the FE1 base suspension or the F45 Real Time Damping suspension.

You could not get Z51 on a convertible. Frame flexes too much?

Look carefully at the Moroney sticker. It states Performance Handling Package - $ 350.00

Is this wrong then?

According to it, 237 coupes had the FE1 suspension. I'm not a GS or LT4 expert, but I do read up on 'vettes. It would be news to me that the GS option required the buyer to also pick a suspension option. But that doesn't mean it's not true, a lot of stuff is news to me. :)

Not sure about the details of the GS owner I ran into at the Corvette show, from what I recall, he said his GSCs were defective, so under warranty, Goodyear replaced all four tires with new rubber all the way around.

The serial number on the Grand Sport that I am referring to is #357. So if anybody on the forum knows him...

You are right! I just checked my original Corvette brochure and you could get the Grand Sport Coupe with the Base FE1 suspension. The only exclusion was you could not get the Grand Sport Covertible with the Z51 Performance Handling Package!

Thanks for researching that info!

I had GS #594 CPE. with base suspension and GS #678 VERT. with base suspension.

Make sure the rear license plate frame is included.

They are great cars, GM nailed it, sending the C4 out the right way.

That Interstate battery would have to go though.
