Hey everyone, this is my first post on this forum, or any forums here, and I'm looking at buyign a white 1996 Corvette, red leather interior, wheels looks good, body is flawless, and it has about 60thou miles. They are asking in the range of 17thousand for it, is this a good price? It is not LT4, just LT1.

Welcome aboard :w I personally just bought a black on black 96 LT1 on Labor Day, and I love it :D. The asking price you mentioned doesn't sound too bad if the car is in excellent shape. Enjoy!

Paul

I just found out the Vette was driven by a little old lady for much of its life as well :dance so im going to test drive it this monday and most likely make a purchase as well :cool

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center. If the car is in excellend condition and was well taken care of, the price may be ok, otherwise, I would either see what the best deal is that you could get on the car or keep looking. Good luck and let us know how you make out!

If its what you want then get it. The nice thing about Corvettes the first will neve be your last. Have fun with your new toy

Welcome to the FEVER! Sounds reasonable if car is in great shape. Good luck and let us know what happens, Guy

Welcome to Corvette Land! Don`t be like I was and rush things make sure you drive it a good ways then check for leaks.Run the AC and Heat watch the temp guage as well. If you can take it to a shop where they can put it up.Check the frame for any sign of welding.Check the tires for uneven wear.
Carfax is a good tool to use also.Make sure it doesn`t have a salvage title.Other wise it is a great year for Corvette I would like to get a 96 myself. Good Luck.

P.S. Inspect the interior closely that is a good sign to tell how the car was treated. The condition of the engine compartment is also a telltale sign.It should be clean and tight.

I bought a 1996 Coupe in 2000

with 29K miles for $20k, so the price doesn't really seem out of line. Plus, I absolutely love my car - I drive it daily for a 50-mile roundtrip commute and have only had a few minor problems (which the guys on this forum are amazing at diagnosing!!).

I say go for it - you'll love the car!

:)

Good Luck in your purchase

I just bought a 99... Loving every minute..
