1999 C5 Transmission - Auto to Manual

I would like to change the automatic transmission in my 99 C5 to a manual. Is this reasonable or is it stuipid ideal. The car is in great shape and I have a lot on upgrades in the engine and supspention. Any ideas?

Sell it and go find a equal or in better cond 6 sp,There Out There!!
Lot less Work,Expense and Aggravation! There's allot more to it than just swapping a trans!!

I have not seen a lot of discussion or many instances of converting a C5 auto to a manual, but in general, you're going to have to change just about everything in the powertrain aft of the engine.

You'll need a flywheel, clutch assy, torque tube, shifter, transmission and rear axle assy.

My guess is the cost, parts and labor, will be 4000-5000 bucks. If you DIY, provided you have the facilities and tools, my guess is you're looking at 3000-4000.
