Hi all Vette Fans,

I am from Switzerland. I drive a C5 from March 2005 and made already 30'000 miles till today (car total miles 72000) This is really a great car to drive daily and I have a lot of fun driving on the german Highways for my business trips ! This car has a great grip also on the snow !!!

I have planned to keep this car a couple of years and I drive 20'000 miles /year and would like to reach at least 200'000 miles. I heard the next big maintenance is at 100'000 miles. What is to be done. When is the next big maintenance then. What kind of problem should I expect ?

Is it reasonable to reach and pass 200'000 miles ?
What is the record of max miles for a C5?

Tks in advance for your advise.

100,000 change the fluids and the spark plugs I am approchaing 100,00 all that I still have to do is the dexcool I did the plugs and trans fluid last year.
they are just about broken in a 100,000 ;)

HI there,
I have one customer with a 97 six speed with 153,000 right now.
One clutch, brakes, tires and fluid changes and one set of 41.985 spark plugs.
One left side axle differential seal.
Bone stock and totally reliable.

Hey Doo Scoop as we say in the Army Hooah!!!!!!

NO WAY, JOSE!

Sorry to disappoint everybody but that high mileage is on a black '98 coupe that belongs to a friend of a friend. Below is the odometer from my car:

It would be really tough to average over 132,000 miles a year. I hope I'm not banished from the club!

Does the word "PhotoShop" come to mind?
If you know how to use it you can do wonders with it.
:D

I assure you that is for real and the true mileage. In fact, that pic was taken in April when the owner came to see my friend on Easter Sunday. My friend told me not long ago that he has seen the car since then and it now has over 275,000 miles! But this guy uses the car in his business. I believe my friend said he is an architect and drives to see many clients with blueprints, plans, etc..

I think a Vette is one of the few cars that could do that kind of miles. He would be real tired of driving if it was any other type of car.
:upthumbs :w

Then you really need to drive your car! ;) 5,000? What are you waiting for? :L

Unbelieveable numbers of miles. I will definetely keep my C5 for a long time and try to beat this great record !

I am waiting now for a new C6 Z06 to come in August for my track use. It seams I will be able to keep it also a long time and reach a miles record on the track.

This will be a dream C5 for daily use and C6 Z06 for track use :)

Yes the C5 is quite comfortable, I'll bet your friend is on his 4th or 5th set of seat covers by now though ;)
I'd love to have a C6 with the paddle shift but I don't realistically see that in the near future ;LOL so I will probably put a bunch of miles on it.
