While I will admit that it does look sinister and has an advantage on "time required to detail", it's not for me.

I agree,looks like Kylon sprayed.I 'll be the first to say I don't care for it :ugh

I'll give it extra points for being a Vette, though. However, I always thought mat black cars looked like they were in the middle of a restoration or body work. The mat finish always reminds me of primer.
 
Not a C5 but how about this Lambo. You can barely see the pink interior in this shot:eek!
