For sale is a manual transmission, black 600HP+ 2002 Twin Turbo Lingenfelter Corvette convertible. Car itself has 83,xxx (as of 3/24/2016) miles on it. The Lingenfelter work was done when the car had about 40,000 miles. Car is in good condition and drives very well. It shows normal wear and tear for a car with this type of mileage on it. Body is good with some minor scratches. Convertible top is in above average condition. Interior is also good with some wear mainly on the driver’s seat.
Car was a daily driver for 35,000 miles or so after the conversion but has been a 2000 mile a year, heated garage-kept toy for the last 4 years. This car is a real “sleeper.” It only has small Lingenfelter badges near the front wheel wells. Car was maintained for the last 3 years at a very reputable local high performance shop, Race Proven Motorsports. New clutch, fuel pump, tune, and dyno were done there in June 2013.
The car has the following additional items:
- Hypertech (custom for this model car) computer monitors all engine functions, very customizable, mounts to windshield and can easily be removed
- Brand new Weathertek mats
- Dual cup holder
- New clutch – MCleod RXT Street Twin
- New Racetronix dual fuel pump
- Wheels were chromed (some peeling on the inside of the rim, not visible unless you bend down and look)
- Hurst short throw shifter
- Tires have about 4000 miles on them – Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
- New ECM installed Sept 2011
- Red accents – passengers seat grab bar, door pulls, brakes, rear Corvette logo
- EX-Clutch extension
- Wolf car cover
- just had a new bumper put on (10/9) to take care of the chips and scratches and some bracket damage
- 10/17/15 - new bumper installed
Three small known issues – tear on top of drivers side vanity mirror and left front tire has a slow leak – goes from 30 to 26/27 in a week if not topped off. There is an occasional short with the traction control / ABS module. Replaced the ECM but still comes up occasionally. Doesn’t affect drivability of the car and Chevy couldn’t quickly identify its source so I moved on with it. Sold AS IS.
Two dyno measurements – I have copies of both
- Original Done by Lingenfelter after conversion was done - at rear wheels – 551HP and 522 Max torque
- June 2013 – at rear wheels, 497 HP and 475 Max torque
This was one of the last conversions that John Lingenfelter did. It was done for the CEO of a major aftermarket parts supplier and maintained there for 5 years until I bought the car. I have been told that very few 600 HP packages were done on C5 convertibles. Car could probably get another 100-150 HP with boost control (according to the speed shop).
