What would cause the problem with my new vette. From zero to 5 MPH I get a buzz from the left rear of the vehicle. Maybe the muffler area. The dealer checked it out and found no problem. I only have 150 miles on the car.

Could be the cats....I had a real bad buzz when I wore them out. But yours may be defective out of the box.
Get it up on a lift or jackstands and bang on them with your fist. If it's the cats you can hear the rattle.
Any codes in the DIC?

Do you have a manual or automatic?

If it's a manual then I'm sure you're hearing the throw-out bearing. It does that during take off. Normal....not to worry...that's the way it's designed. Annoying but normal. I recommend watching the video that comes with the car. It'll save you a few trips to the dealer.:D

If you have an auto.....then it might be what "johnl" mentioned. I hope not being it's a 2003.

Good luck,
Kenny

Actually it is a little harder to track down than knocking on stuff :).

Good news is, I should know tomorrow if my Vette will be rid of this very same problem after 4 days in the shop. My dealer has gone above the call of duty in tracking this issue down for me and if it is fixed, I will be more than happy to post the solution.

Wish me luck, because I really want my Vette back.

Well the issue wasn't the pressure plate being installed backwards to the torque converter. There has been a few cases (based on factory techs) that have seen them installed facing the wrong way and making a noise.

Oh well, back to the exhaust system since the drive train has been taking apart twice with no luck in solving the issue.

The really depressing news now is two new '04s on the lot make the same exact noise. My dealer is still trying to solve it, because he believes it is BS that the cars make that god awful noise. But he says he has only 2 ideas left and then it might require an after market fix. Which means maybe going to an X crossover pipe instead of the stock H.

4 days later they finally found the issue on my car. Turns out it is a known issue that hasn't been solved 100%. If you have an automatic and drive in stop and go traffic, you get to hear a really nice noise at 900ish RPM. It is a harmonic from the rear differential. Currently all '03s and '04s have 3 lbs of weight mounted on the left side of the housing to combat the noise. My dealer is going to try and fix it for good so I don't have to listen to it again.
