Help! 2005 C6 Intermittent Starting

On numerous occasions, I've had to disconnect and reconnect my battery cable in order for car to start. Dealer initially said battery had a dead cell (funny, since I had it load tested at two other places prior to taking it in). Replaced with Omega Red Top. Fine for a week, then the same thing, NO START! All you hear is chirping from within the dash. Sometimes I can shut down and walk away and when I return it will start. Especially contrary on hot days. I've replaced #43 and #44 relays, but issue still arises. Code reader shows no codes when this occurs or in history. Sometimes I get the 'SERVICE COLUMN LOCK' on especially warm days and have to either let it cool down or disconnect/reconnect battery to start. Any suggestions? My Mustang and Viper neighbors are laughing hysterically evry time I get in my Vette!:bash

Try cleaning the battery cable ends and clean the other ends where they connect to the chassis and engine grounds and the positive cables at distribution center and starter!!Just a hunch,but I've been there,done that,even got the shirt!!

It seemed like I remember a thread in the C5 area concerning the bolts on the battery posts being a hair too long to make a secure contact. The poster cut down the bolt and the problem was solved. Could this also be true for the C6 battery? Just a suggestions!!

C6 has top post battery terminals. I remember the thread you mentioned, I did that on my 98 Vette.

I guess that is another improvement to motivate me to save my pennies to get a C6!!!!!!

HI there,
Also remember, your talking about a dead battery issue here.
Truth is, that the battery terminals should only be torqued to about 55 in lbs.
So, that being said, a 'code reader' will not give you BCM or RCDLR codes, so you have no idea if you have a module communication issue or not.

Issue resolved. It was the steering wheel lock servo. Apparently motor was weak and would not fully retract, thus not allowing motor to start. No code would show because the servo did not fault. Especially noticeable during warmer weather.
