The first 8 cars on the starting lineup at Indy are ricers and I pulled a relay out of Thunder that was marked made in China. I guess that the world has truly gone international but I still miss the days when nobody thought that a non-Offenhauser powered car could win at the Brick Yard.

It was 40 years ago tomorrow that a Coup designed by Dan Gurney beheaded the dragon with a Ford powered Lotus wheeled by Jim Clark and thanks to my uncles John and Charlie I was there to see it.

I like the girl a lot but I will be cheering for the Chevy powered folks starting in 9th place and below. Funny thing is that 9th place is where Barbham started the 62 Indy in his Cooper Climax; the first modern car to race at Indy.

Watching it right now. Nice post, if sad. Not too much fun to see, and personnally feel the cashing out of America. It so much more than outsourcing.

:w

I don't follow as much as i use to ,the cars do seem very un-american.But i watched it because of Danica, and glad i did. What a trouper! She's a winner in my book.
