I need the windshield rweplacing in my '06 . I'm in the U.K. , so , as you may imagine, these things are 'unicorn droppings' !! However, out of the blue , I got a call to say the windshield was in stock ,and was the correct version , 'GPS,HUD, top tint' . gps referring to the OnStar mounting area blackout strip extension. Needless to say , when presenting the car , and checking the windshield, the OnStar area was absent. All other details were correct, however . What I need to know, seeing as this looks to be the only C6 windshield in the country , is , can that OnStar box be removed , so I can go ahead and have that windshield fitted ? I realise there will be other things associated with this , such as the main module in the 'trunk' area, but any info on how this may be accomplished would be most welcome. Especially how to actually remove said box/antenna from it's perch on the glass. I don't need any bluetooth, 'phone or any other unnecessary rubbish , the only thing I occasionally use is the nav , which uses a seperate antenna in the dash , so the OnStar will be no loss. Never worked here, anyhoo.....

Thanx y'all

Pretty sure the "NAV" transmitters are in the rear view mirror housings. (Each side of the vehicle.)

There are two of 'em.
