Bought a new PF48 earlier this week from my GM dealer and was given a PF48E. Got it home and compared it with a PF48 and they are significantly different. Made me ask the GM Parts Manager.
The new PF48E is shorter and looks different on the seal face and inside.

Haven't screwed it on yet as I bought this one as a spare for later use.

I have a couple of PF48 in the garage still. I assume they are still OK to use but next time I purchase one it will be a PF48E.
