2013 Anniversary Edition 427 Corvette is a drop-top dynamo

A boy straddled his bicycle at the curb, mouth open, gazing at the car stopped at the light.

"Hey Mister. Nice 'Vette," he said, with the earnest sincerity of a character from "Leave it to Beaver."

Wally and the Beaver may be small screen memories from a bygone era when the Chevrolet Corvette was new, but the genuine awe generated by the pulse-quickening sight, sound and seduction of a 'Vette hasn't diminished in 60 years.

The 2013 anniversary edition 427 Corvette convertible is a worthy commemoration of that heritage.

You have to know GM is kicking itself in the ass for the years of NOT releasing a 427 cruiser. How many times did they say that a 427 Vette just HAD to have a fixed roof to be a safe, good handling car (chassis flex and all that stuff) ? The 427 is a hot number, and would have sold well all along. When I was at the plant in June, the production floor was loaded with 427 roadsters. It was a beautiful sight.
