I figured I'd start a thread here where I can post updates on the C7 unveiling event.

Just landed and standing with a GM rep waiting for the shuttle to the hotel.

we are here at the Somerset Inn, Troy waiting to be picked up to our secret location. We all got a C7 hat with 1-13-13 on the hat

From what I was told the C7 was unveiled this morning to GM Internals and it received an enormous round of of applause.

Just got on the bus with the rest of the media group heading over to the location where the C7 Corvette will be unveiled!

Keep those updates coming.

Tom...

Rob, as you keep us updated on the C7 unveil, we'll keep you updated on the Pats-Texans game.
Pats-17, Texans-13 at the half.

I am all set up with my camera on a tripod with the rest of the media group in the back. In front of the audince is a huge screen showing Corvette Videos. Bhind...a curtain is drawn and behind the curtain you can make out DRLs lit up just under the C7's headlights

I am currently baving breakfast with the social media group of GM on the 18th floor of their corporate building. Very impressive!

They monitor over 100 automotive forum web sites.

At the NAIAS at the Chevrolet area eithin COBO awaiting the Chevrolet press conference and another unveiling of the 2014 C7 Corvette.

For those of you that think the C7 is a flop...the media doesn't. They love the car and right now the entire Chevrolet area is swamped with Media from around the world!

I will be taking more photos of the C7...I believe a gray one...after the conference. I'll get them up in the gallery as soon as I can.

The parking break is electronic and in the center console. I haven't been able to get close enough to it to check it out.

Just finished doing interviews with Tom Peters - in charge of exterior design, and Helen Emsley - in charge of C7 interior design. These interviews will be available in the C7 Research Center here on the CAC as soon as I can transcribe them and get them.

I was also interviewed for Faces of GM; a series that GM does on their employees, and can be found on their YouTube channel.

Questions I was asked included history of the CAC, how it started, what the public opinion is of Corvette in general, as well as what everyone is saying about the C7 after the unveiling.

I will say this, the car looks awesome in red, and looks even more KILLER in dark gray metallic. It looks ominous.

I have a ton more pics to upload to the galleries as soon as I can but running off to another interview.

Enjoy yourself Rob. We are living this historic event through you.

Tom

Did an interview with Tom Peters - in charge of the Gen 5 small block for the C7 and the head of QC for the C7.

Rob,

Just wanted to say thank you for a fantastic job covering this event for all of us. I was glued to my computer
last night. I am relatively new to this forum but you hit it out of the park.

Great job, and congratulations. :thumb:thumb

Just uploaded approximately 80 more photos of the C7:

2014 C7 Corvette - NAIAS - Corvette Gallery

Again, remember - these are raw, unedited photos...taken quickly before spectators or media walked in front of me, or got in my way. LOL

96gs917: thank you so much!!! It's been a lot of work bit an awesome experience!
