Site Update: 2017 Corvette: Service Bulletin: #16-NA-296: Tire Performance and Characteristics - (Sep 12, 2016)

Wouldn't the tire reach optimum temperature on a 150 mile trip at 55mph 80 mph.

Suppose you leave at 40 degrees and the temp rises during your trip. Sorry for the questions like this

The point in the bulletin is not to use the tires in 40*F ambient even for a few miles, and if you start out in 40*F temps then you would be going against the bulletin recommendations, so the bulletin is saying not to use those tires in your scenario.

I read the bulletin as stating you will lose traction in 40*F or less ambient with those tires, but GM recommends not using those tires in 50*F or less ambient. You may want to call GM customer service for clarification and have them e-mail you an answer so you have it in print. I would also check with Michelin for their recommendations.
