283 block for sale casting 3737739

283 engine block w/ code FI23CT and crank w/ 3736236 casting #. Engine block will need sleeves. $300, pick up in Phoenix AZ. Thanks for looking.

Hi Tom, The only numbers I see on this block are 3737739, which is cast on the left rear and FI23CT is stamped on the right front machined area. I was told once this was a corvette block. If anyone out there has more info on this it would be greatly appreciated.

That casting number and Sept 23 assembly date would make it an early 1959 . That's a pretty rare block as it was not used very long into early 1959. I'm not sure what date they switched over to the 3756519 block. It would be worth saving if someone needed one for their 245 horse. Saving it without decking would be the main thing.

I have been watching for a CU block around I, J or early K for years. Maybe some day.
