1962 rebuild in progress
Can anyone tell me the proper casting number for the crankshaft for the 327-300hp w/powerglide. My corvette by the numbers book lists several... 2680, 4577, and 3782680. I know the 3782680 is proper for the 340hp and 360hp and have the availability of one. Would using the 3782680 cause any problems used in a 327 configured for a 300hp w/powerglide. Also looking for information on the part number for harmonic balancer that would fit each of these crankshafts. Can anyone point me in the direction of a parts book that would have this type of info in it. Thanks for any input.

post this over on the NCRS website tech board. if you are not having the car judged any crank and balancer will work as long as you get the rotating assy balanced by a good auto machine shop

My 1976 parts manual lists the 3782680 casting ID for your car, with a note that says the pilot bearing is to be removed for a Powerglide. The ordering part number was 3889304; and the balancer part number was 3896904. I don't know if those part numbers are still good.

My 1967 GM parts manual shows the exact same info for the crankshaft.

But the balancer is shown as 3896903. My parts book shows 3896904 as for 62-65.

YMMV

All small-journal 327 cranks were forged steel, and any of them will work for you. The balancers are long-since discontinued, and "correct" used balancers are expensive and usually need rebuilding. Paragon and Doc Rebuild have balancers.
