Plans are falling into place for the 15th anniversary of the National Corvette Museum, with more than 5,000 of the shiny sports cars expected to roar into town.
“We have been working on aiding the caravans with finding hotel rooms. As of Thursday, there are a very few rooms reported to us as being available in our area,” said Duncan Hines, sales manager for the Bowling Green Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Hotels, bed and breakfasts, and other lodging sites have been filling up all around Warren County and the surrounding counties. We are continuing to aid those in need of lodging through our office and our Web site (www.visitbgky.com/caravan.) We are doing regular call-arounds to the hotels to keep the list of available rooms updated on the Web site.”
That Web site has been pretty busy with 1,100 unique page views in July and 509 in the first six days of August, according to Marissa Butler, public relations director for the CVB.
