The engine is back from the machine shop. She had never been torn down and had about 45,000 original miles. She got a new camshaft, pistons, springs and several other important parts. Boiled out the block and all the water passages are now like new. :w

Is there a source for the original Corvette cam for the 235? It's different than the passenger car cam.

Tom

I understand that the cam was different. The machine shop that did the work got involved in that. I think they got what was a match. I will know the details when I get the bill in the next week or two. LOL
:w

Pictures don't show the paint job as good as it really looks in person.

Gonna be too pretty to drive.:)

I'm looking forward to seeing that motor with everything on it before it gets installed. THAT should be one sweet picture! :_rock

I can say I plan on towing it in the trailer more than driving on the highway. :w

Looks great!....Excellent documentation on your engine rebuild. Any guess on when you'll get the 54 back from the shop? She will be one stunning car when you get her done!

Fred

Hello

Fred and Roger,
Just wanted to say hello.
[I have the red '60 with the Led's around the headlights.]
:w Ed

Just received these photos this evening. I have seen photos of the engine as I was being installed, but Steve (my engine guy) has not sent them to me yet. I will post several progress photos when I get them.

Steve tells me he ran the engine for 20 minutes today. Great oil pressure and no problems. He will run it two more times at about 20 minutes each this week. The hood needs to be put back on and several things detailed. A final oil change and I should get the car back either this coming Friday or the following week.

When I get her back I will install the reconditioned radio and speaker. :w
Roger

JEEZ!!!!!! That thing sure does look sweet! I hope it runs like a top and that you get many, many years of service out of it. THANKS for the pix!
Andy

The engine is completed. It has had three break in runs for 20 minutes each over a 4 day period. Still some details to be looked at and the hood needs to be put back on. :w

Almost a shame to cover such beauty... almost... :)

-Mac

I will post the pictures of the completed engine before and during installation.
I visited the 54 yesterday and took some pictures.
First, some transmission photos.
The chrome on the side shielding is so shiny that it picks up the black from the fender wells. You have to look at the reflection of the wingnuts to see the shine. :w
