I have a '59 roman red which has recently undergone a total body-off restoration. All parts are correct and origninal. The date stampings indicate the vette was built in August of 1958. The trunk mat, which appears to be original also, is stamped with the part number..... 3777517...... which, according to NCRS judging manuals, is incorrect for this model year, though correct for the 1960 models.

Is it somehow possible that the '59 was sold late and possibly ended up with a '60 mat? And, does anyone know if this is a point deduction with NCRS judging?

Thanks for looking. buddy b

It's "possible" in an end-of-model-year car, but if any original '58 cars had been observed with '59 mats, it would indicate that in the JG and accept that situation for full credit. If you want full credit, you need to follow the JG, which reflects anomalies when they're borne out by known-original cars.

59-60 Trunk Mat, Red

Hello bbeez59.

I know this is 10 years later but better late than never. I have a correct GM red 59 trunk mat 3761486 if you are still looking. Furthermore, I am looking for a correct 3777517 mat if you still have that one. Maybe we can work something out. Please reply or email me at brb550@gmail.com. Thanks.
