Questions questions...

I was under the impression that with the exception of a few years, the majority of Corvettes were made in Bowling Green Kentucky- however, according to the www.idavette.net site, they claim that the '59 model year was produced in St. Louis, MO. Can anyone clarify?

Thanks,

Yup. The BG plant was a brand new facility in 1981. Check in the L81 Registry for info on 1981 BG cars vs St Louis cars.

1953 only: Flint, MI

1954-mid 1981: St. Louis, MO

Mid 1981-present: Bowling Green, KY

The St Louis plant was demolished some years ago. The Flint assembly building still stands (SACC just had the REAL 50th Anniversary Celebration there two weeks ago) but I heard it, too is scheduled for demolition within the next few months. Personally I think GM deserves :Buttslap for [soon] turning yet another piece of Corvette history into rubble {my $0.02}.
