I am going to change the oil in the 6 speed manual transmission in my 94. Three questions: 1. Are ther any special tools needed for this? 2. What type of oil is in there, how much is in there and what should I replace it with? and 3. How difficult of a job is it?

Thanks

Lots of info at www.zfdoc.com

I used the BMW oil and it seems to be a bit better than what was in there originally. Shifts a bit smoother. But, on the other hand, that may just be due to the change to fresh oil.

I found that RedLine MTL worked ever well.

Definitely check out www.zfdoc.com also.

It says on the ZFdoc web site that the stock oil is a 5 W 30 engine type oil. It doesn't specifically say what brand etc. It only gives some GM spec number. Is it Mobil 1 5 W 30? If I put Mobil 1 in the transmission, would that be ok?

Thanks
