The 62 has been driven occasionally, and now I've found a pool of steering gear oil on the floor. After a refill, it takes several months to go dry again. Any suggestions welcomed!

A lot of people quit using the thin lube and now pump chassis grease into the box. There is even a bolt available out there that you can put into one of the side cover bolt holes, that has a hollow shank and a Zerk mounted to it. You pump grease in the bottom until it comes out the fill hole. This is a GM reccomended fix for leaking boxes from many years ago. I tried to get the threads on the lash adjuster cup to seal up several times and finally just gave up and put grease in mine.

I've read the chassis grease idea on other forums. I may try the chassis grease this weekend. Then I'll see what other leaks show up. Thanks, member McGraw!!!
