I found a correct hood for my 1964, so I am selling the one that came with the car.
I will give you a description of it to the best of my ability:
1965-1967 factory GM hood (flat with no hood vents).
Top side is in very good shape. It looks like it was off a white car. It was on a 1964 car that I purchased last year. I was in the process of sanding and primering the car, and I got to the hood. It had a few scratches in the paint, so I began to sand them out gently. (E-mail for pictures). I stopped when I saw the factory primer, and did not go any deeper.
I have since learned that you should use stripper to remove the paint down to the gelcoat to repaint, so stopping where I did was a good idea. I will send a pic of a sanded area too.
Both front corners are great. The top drivers corner is great. Thepassenger side corner has a very fine (rub?) mark. Looks like someone stood it on it at one time. It is not deep, and looks like it could be sanded out.
The underside looks to be perfect. No marks from an air cleaner.
Hinge mounting areas look good. a little greasy.
I am asking $500.00, or best offer.
The hood should be picked up. I live 20 minutes east of Carlisle PA.
Feel free to ask questions or for pics!
I would consider trade for a Midyear Steering column.
